A guide to must-see tourist attractions in Osaka

We introduce special and wonderful tourist attractions of the country that are not yet widely known to general tourists.

I think the fun will be doubled if you wear a beautiful kimono and go sightseeing together!

Nara-machi

This is a cafe street lined with Japanese wooden houses that are as quiet and beautiful as the streetscape of Kyoto.

It is a place where you can feel healed just by taking a quiet walk.

NaraPark

There is a place where you can have a good time with the deer, a national specialty. We hope you will make happy memories by feeding them deer senbei at Nara Park, where there is a wide green space and over 2,000 deer running around freely.

Todaiji Temple

This is Dongdaemun, which is called a must-visit place when you come to the country.

Ukimi-do

It is a place not well known to the general public, but it is famous for cherry blossoms in spring and autumn foliage in fall. The pavilion floating on the pond is said to have been preserved in its original form from 1,000 years ago.

Ukimido boat experience

Ukkimi is also a place where you can row a boat on the pond.

Yugayama-Enchi

Right next to Ukimi is Yuugayamaenji. You can see maple leaves and a small Japanese garden. There is a bamboo forest inside, so it is a cool travel destination in the summer.

Yoshiki-en

This is a Japanese garden managed by Nara Prefecture. It is especially famous for its autumn foliage. You can experience a lovely authentic Japanese garden with moss gardens, autumn foliage, and ponds on the wide grounds.

Kofukuji Temple

Kofukuji Temple is a registered World Cultural Heritage site. If you stand under the five-story pagoda on the premises, you will be amazed by its grand scale.

Sarusawaike

This is an artificial pond with a circumference of about 360m, built as a place for releasing dead bodies of Kofukuji Temple, but the sight of the five-story pagoda reflected on the surface of the pond is one of the representative landscapes of the country. There is a shrine called Unemejinja Shrine, which enshrines a court lady who threw herself into the pond.

Sanjo Shopping Street

This is a shopping street that connects JR Nara Station to Kintetsu Nara Station.

There are many things to see, eat, and enjoy, including Nakatani-do, a specialty handmade mochi shop that is one of the country's specialties.
